It was time for some mother, daughter bonding today, so we headed down to Ecclesall road for lunch. With no particular plan we ambled along in the sunshine, popping into various new deli’s that had emerged since our last visit.
I teamed my new Topshop blouse, a birthday present from Harriet and Rosie (thanks again guys!) with a red blazer (Zara) black skinnies (Urban Outfitters) and tan sandals (Topshop).
We stumbled across a lovely little place called Xenophily Cafe, which served Turkish/Syrian cuisine. It had a lovely and relaxing atmosphere and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. My mother and I were particularly fond of the beautiful crockery and glasses that our turkish tea and coffee was served in.
We shared a chicken, red pepper and goats cheese salad and a plate of hummus and pittas- Lovely!
It was all really reasonably priced, they’re open in the evening too and it’s bring your own…I think Ivor and I will have to come here for our next date night. There are a couple of tables to sit outside for those sun worshippers out there, plus they do Mezze picnics to take away- a great idea when the botanical gardens is only a stone’s throw away.
